We’re finalists again

While so much is uncertain at the moment, it’s good to know some things remain the same. The Devon Tourism Awards are underway and The Three Crowns is a finalist in the ‘Pub of the Year’ category!

“In the past twelve months everything has been very different for all of us so it is nice to have at least one constant!” says Steve Bellman who, with John Milan, has been at the helm of The Three Crowns since 2016.

“We are really pleased to have reached the finals again,” added Steve. “It will also be the second year that we will go head to head with one of our sister pubs, The Waterfront in Plymouth, who won the award last year. Let’s see if The Three Crowns can take the title from them this year!”

Things were certainly different this year and, as well as the awards being delayed by various Covid restrictions, the judging had to be undertaken differently and there were no mystery visits this year.

Steve said: “Our entry form – along with our online presence, social media activity, reputation management, and our hard work to be a Covid-secure business – have all formed part of the overall results. Managers Kayleigh Horsham and Darren Smith and their team here at The Three Crown have done a great job in these difficult times.”

“We would like to wish our fellow finalists in the pub category good luck and look forward to the results being announced in March. Hopefully, we will be open before too long and welcoming visitors to our great pub once again.”
