The Three Crowns has been named as a finalist in the Pub of the Year category of this year’s South West Tourism Excellence Awards – the region’s ‘pinnacle’ in tourism excellence.
“Having recently won Gold as the Tourism Pub of the Year in the Visit Devon Awards, we are delighted to now be finalists in this prestigious regional award,” said Steve Bellman who, with John Milan, owns the Three Crowns, Chagford.
It has been an extraordinary year, with challenges and obstacles for everyone, and all of us having to adapt and change on many occasions. To be a finalist in such an era is an outstanding feat, well done to the Three Crowns team!
“We are doubly chuffed this year as the Three Crown’s sister pub, The Pandora Inn in Cornwall, is also a finalist!” added Steve.
Crowned Tourism Pub of the Year by Visit Cornwall, The Pandora Inn is an iconic Cornish pub, ancient and thatched and right on the water at Restronguet Creek. About 1 hour 40 minutes by car from Chagford, it would make a great day out!
This year’s South West Tourism Excellence Awards saw 416 entries, including those into the Dorset, Cornwall, Devon and Bristol, Bath and Somerset awards. The South West awards panel met at the start of March, selecting 78 finalists who will all go on to become regional winners at this year’s online awards event on 22 April. Being amongst the 19% of entrants to become a finalist is a huge achievement, especially in England’s top region.
