Dog-Friendly
Chagford is a great base for walking and we regularly welcome guests with four legs, as well as two! You are welcome to bring your dogs with you – well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the bar, snug and external dining areas. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the building.
We have six dog-friendly rooms all with direct access to the external courtyard. Breakfast is served in our glass atrium every morning and guests with dogs may take breakfast in the bar if they wish.
We also have a range of pet accessories available, please ask at Reception.
Chagford town is surrounded by some of Dartmoor’s most spectacular scenery, with great walks just about everywhere, particular delights in the area are Meldon Hill, which offers panoramic views. Beyond are Kes Tor and Fernworthy Forest, with direct access to the open moors.
To help you and your dog make the most of your visit and explore this beautiful area, we have also produced our own leaflet featuring a range of circular walks of varying length and difficulty, starting right from the front door!
If you’d like to explore the pretty town of Chagford itself, the Chagford History Society has produced a Town Trail, sponsored by the Three Crowns, that you can download here.
