Chagford is a great base for walking and we regularly welcome guests with four legs, as well as two! You are welcome to bring your dogs with you – well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the bar, snug and external dining areas. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the building.

 We have six dog-friendly room (4 x classic and 2 x superior) all with direct access to the external courtyard. Please note dog-friendly rooms must be booked direct by calling us on 01647 433444. We regret that dog-friendly rooms cannot be booked on our website or on third party websites including Booking.com and Expedia. If you wish to bring your dog with you to breakfast, we can reserve a table for you in our library.

Chagford town is surrounded by some of Dartmoor’s most spectacular scenery, with great walks just about everywhere, particular delights in the area are Meldon Hill, which offers panoramic views. Beyond are Kes Tor and Fernworthy Forest, with direct access to the open moors.
